NORTH BEDS CHARITY CUP LANGFORD 2 STOTFOLD 1

After Brad Gillham kept out 2 early chances for Rob Groves and Wes Byrne, Callum Donnellys break down the right and ball into the middle was met by Ricky Case to place into the roof of the net on 10 mins. A spell of pressure for Langford at the end of an even first half was rewarded in the 44th minute when Wes Byrne was put through on the right to fire the ball under Brad Gillham into the far post. The second half started with Andy Carter shooting over the bar from close range and Paul Garrett glancing a header wide of the far post from Masons cross from the left. A shot from Rob Groves straight at Gillham and a header from Louis Lee at Young shortly after was followed by some good work on the left by Adam Pitcairn and good strike by Byrne for the winner on 78 mins.

Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup Stotfold 4 Ampthill Town 0

The Second XI added the Beds Intermediate Cup to this seasons trophy cabinet after a 4-0 victory over Ampthill Town.
Ampthill's Ryan Welton opened the scoring on 10 mins with a mis hit clearance from a corner with Kane Dougherty working the ball past the last defender and round the keeper to fire in the second 2 mins later. Scott Rennie's over head kick back into the middle of the box, from a free kick on the right, was nodded in on 34 mins by Dougherty to make it 3-0 at the break. The team from the South Midlands League did push forward more in the second half but a sweetly struck 25 yd shot from Freddy Morris on 69 mins made sure it was black and gold ribbons on this years trophy. SLEAFORD 1 STOTFOLD 1
A largely uneventful game was hindered by the wind blowing across the pitch not giving either team any advantage. The first half passed with both side failing to get a shot on target with James Shaw shooting wide after collecting a defensive error 5 mins in and Arin Fehmi placing Paul Garrett's ball into the box over the bar on 21 mins. Sleaford's Matt Lunn finished off the first 45 by putting 2 chances wide of the far top corner with shots from the left hand side of the box. Fehmi got a low shot on target at the start of the second half but the lack of power made it a comfortable save for Danny Tomlinson on 48 mins. The deadlock was finally broken on 53 mins when, after some good passing in the build up, Lee Allinson lifted the ball over the last defender and then chipped Tomlinson as he came running towards him on the edge of the box. Shaw was put through in the middle a few mins later but his was straight at Gillham and after Ricky Case had put a good ball across the face of goal Shaw again came close this time hitting he upright from a tight angle on the right on 87 mins. The equaliser, as last week, came just into stoppage time with a long throw being headed down for Chris Jones to fire in from close range at the near post. Brad Gillham, Andy Reed, Dave Drury, Colin Shambrook, Tawhid Juneja, Louis Lee, Ricky Case, Luke Donnelly, Arin Fehmi (Tommy Hull), Lee Allinson, Paul Garrett. Paul Donnelly, Wayne Mulloolly,

STOTFOLD 4 LONG BUCKBY 4
With just a point needed to secure the Premier Division Trophy, it was always going to be a bit nervy playing 3rd placed Long Buckby.
Where as in previous games Stotfold had come out of the blocks early firing on all cylinders, on Saturday they were quiet and disjointed. After the visitors had a spell of corners and free kicks in the first 10 mins Joel Mason came closest by shooting low and wide of the far post when he raced through on the right. Carl Holmes opened the scoring for the Bucks on 14 mins firing in from the right stunning the 250 strong crowd. Failure to clear the ball from the box allowed Jason Lee a shot at goal but after his effort came back off the bar Darren Lynch was there to head in for the second on 29 mins. 2 mins later and the visitors were 3 up when Jon Crockett was fouled from behind in the box, Captain Danny Duggan sticking his pen straight down the middle. Darren Lynch was given his marching orders on 35 mins his straight red card issued after Referee Wayne Chalmers consulted his linesman, but this one man disadvantage wasn't immediately apparent as Jason Lee fired a low shot in from the left 2 mins later. Two early goals set up an edgy second half, with Ricky Case stabbing in at the far post from a corner on 52 mins and Tawhid Juneja heading in Lee Allinsons free kick 5 mins later. Plenty of possession and what seemed like the worlds longest goalmouth scramble followed with the 3rd goal not coming until the 86th minute through Joel Mason. The equaliser came from the left foot of Paul Garrett on the stroke of 90 mins sending the ball bouncing past keeper Farhad Afandiyev from outside the box starting celebrations the club could only have dreamed of in recent seasons. Brad Gillham, Tommy Hull, Paul Donnelly (Arin Fehmi), Colin Shambrook, Tawhid Juneja, Louis Lee, Ricky Case, Luke Donnelly, Joel Mason, Lee Allinson, Paul Garrett.
