BLACKSTONES 1 STOTFOLD 3
Stotfold cancelled out the 3 nil defeat at Roker Park from earlier in the season punishing some poor first half defending at Lincoln Road.
Brad Gillham was called into action in the first couple of minutes when he punched a corner down and had to block Chris Pippards shot from close range. But Stotfold took the lead on 9 minutes after Josh Bickerstaffs short throw in was crossed to the far post by Paul Garrett and headed down and in by Leon Gutzmore. Blackstones Captains wayward back pass was pounced on by George Brinkman who was able to run round the keeper and side foot the ball into an empty net on 25 mins. Keeper Ian Flavell got down well shortly after to palm wide Shane Browns shot from distance. The home side had created chances in the first half and put themselves back in the game when Matt Doyle broke down the right and crossed for Sam Strange to knock the ball in from the middle on 38 minutes. But another hurried clearance from Flavell eventually came out wide to Bickerstaff whose well driven low ball across the box was clipped in by Brinkman from close range on the stroke of half time. Blackstones had more of the game in the second half and Gillham kept out Jonathon Steads low shot early on with Stotfold creating chances from Garretts free kick, headed wide by Gutzmore and Brinkmans good strike pushed over the bar after Louis Taylors break down the right and ball across. Two good efforts from Kevin Ainslie had to be parried and Mark Jones' strike from the left was fortunately straight at Gillham. Both Lochhead and Taylor were unlucky not to add to the scoreline in the last 10 mins after Flavell palmed Lochheads free kick to the feet of Taylor who's close range effort was blocked on the line. Brad Gilham, Michael Payne (Andy Carter), Josh Bickerstaff, Mark Bryant, Ian Morrison, Shane Brown, Louis Taylor (James Peters), Stuart Lochhead, Leon Gutzmore (Wes Byrne), George Brinkman, Paul Garrett.

STOTFOLD 6 NORTHAMPTON SPENCER 2

Stotfold come from 2 goals down to win this 8 goal thriller.
The visitors hadn't played since Boxing day and flew into the first half with a shot from James Alcock on the left tipped over the bar and Brad Gillham pulling off a superb double save from close range to deny Dan Surridge within the first quarter of an hour. Surridge opened the scoring on 16 mins with a glancing header at the near post from Phil Cassidys cross on the right and quickly added a second 2 mins later when Surridge again met Adam Sharps low cross from the left for a tap in at the far post. Only the woodwork a minute later denied Surridge a hat trick, when Gillham came off his line, and his shot from the left rebounded off the upright to be cleared upfield. Apart from a comfortable save from Michael Paynes header the visiting keeper Craig Neighbour had been untroubled, until the 36 minute when Stuart Lochhead rose well in the box to send Josh Bickerstaffs free kick from the left looping into the back of the net. The equaliser came 2 minutes later after a foul on Paul Garrett just outside the D allowed Lochhead to lift a free kick over the wall and into the bottom corner. Louis Taylor had a good chance to take a lead into half time but after a good run into the box his shot was blocked by Neighbours feet. After a couple of corners for Spencer at the start of the second half Stotfold continued where they left off and after some persistence to win a ball on the right Wesley Byrnes cross was volleyed into the ground by Garrett on the left and knocked over the line by Jamie Osbourne on 49 mins. A good though ball from Lochhead was met by Garrett on the left and his low strike into the far corner made it 4-2 on 52 mins. Lochhead completed his hat trick 3 minutes later with a low shot from the left to the far post and Osbourne got his second to wrap the contest up on 64 mins after knocking the ball past the keeper on the right hand side of the box and passing the ball into the net from a tight angle. Bickerstaff and Osbourne both put chances wide of the goal late on but it was Mark Bryant who had the best chance with a stoppage time shot from the left cleared off the line. Brad Gilham, Mark Bryant, Josh Bickerstaff, Ryan Ellis, Michael Payne, Ian Morrison (James Peters), Louis Taylor, Stuart Lochhead (Stuart Clarke), Jamie Osbourne, Ryan Aldrin (Wes Byrne), Paul Garrett.

BEDS SENIOR CUP BARTON ROVERS 2 STOTFOLD 3

Stotfold bounce back from Saturdays Vase defeat to book a Semi Final place in the Beds Senior Cup.
A good penalty shout for handball from Paul Garretts strike was turned down in the first 5 minutes but Stotfold deservedly took the lead on 17 minutes after Jamie Osbourne made himself some space with some good footwork inside the box and a curling left footed strike. Callum Donnelly almost punished a defensive error but shot wide of the far post on 25 mins and Sam Spencer had a couple of good opportunities but fired both straight at Brad Gillham. Garrett struck wide after Osbourne held the ball up and played the ball across the box but on the stroke of 45 mins Joel Mason found himself unmarked at the far post and from a corner had time to chest down and side foot the ball home from inside the 6 yd box. Barton started the second half the brighter of the 2 teams and hit the woodwork after 6 mins through Mason on the left. The ex Stotfold frontman continued to trouble the defence and won a dubious penalty which he converted on 70 mins. The lead was shortlived however after Louis Taylors shot was blocked on the line by the arms of Glen Draper. Stuart Lochhead was reliable as ever from the spot and levelled the scores on 72 mins. A good block from Josh Bickerstaff kept out Spencers header from a cross at the far post and after Lochheads free kick was spilled by keeper Daniel Allison, Leon Gutzmore should have nicked the winner from inside the 6yd box but somehow stabbed wide with 5 mins to go. The winner did come with just 2 mins left, from Bickerstaffs free kick just inside the Rovers half, defender Tom Peverall was first to meet the ball into the box and looped it past keeper Allison and into the back of the net. Brad Gilham, Mark Bryant, Josh Bickerstaff, Ryan Ellis, Ian Morrison, Stuart Lochhead, Louis Taylor, Matt Endersby, Leon Gutzmore, Jamie Osbourne (George Brinkman), Paul Garrett.
