We were all eagerly anticipating the start of the new season but what we didnt expect on matchday one was the newly appointed manager Glen Clarke to resign before a ball had been kicked !
STOTFOLD 2 BOURNE 2
Ian ( left ) and TerryCoach Ian Williscroft and Reserve manager Terry Kitchener stepped in to take temporary charge, and after going 2 nil down in the first, half levelled the scoreline and should of had the winner.
Bourne took the lead on 25 mins when failure to close down Miles Mason on the edge of the box resulted in him getting a shot over Nigel and under the bar. 2 mins later and Mason doubled the lead for the visitors heading in from Robbie Pearce's corner. After the half time talk the next 45 mins belonged to Stotfold, and the breakthrough came on 64 mins when a great passing move on the left and a ball cut back from Craig Reynolds allowed Ian Thorne to run into the box and blast the ball in. Reynolds showed good feet on the edge of the box for the second on 78 mins making himself enough space to get a low shot to the right of Ben Derbyshire in the Bourne goal. A golden chance for Sean Turner came back off the upright 3 mins from time and Richard Beckett headed wide from Ryan Nicholl's free kick a few mins later, but all things considered it was a good performance but I am sure we will have a much tougher test on Wednesday evening away to Buckingham.
Nigel Blower, Scott Rennie, James Diplock (Ryan Mitchell), Jamie Taylor (Simon Drury), Ricky Geraghty, Ryan Nicholl, Lee Downham (Ian Thorne), Richard Beckett, Mark Holmes, Craig Reynolds, Sean Turner. Subs not used, Joe Philbin, Tony Harvey

BUCKINGHAM 5 STOTFOLD 4
Only 2 goalline clearances from Scott Rennie and James Diplock had stopped Buckingham from scoring any earlier than 32 mins and when they did it was from Ruben Max Grant who had come on as sub 5 mins earlier to replace Injured defender David King. His header down from a corner was the first of 4 he got this evening but desipte the earlier scares and this goal Stotfold fought back, and 7 mins later were level when Ryan Nicholl's cross from the right was knocked down and volleyed in by 18 year old Ryan Mitchell. Ian Thorne was brought down on the right hand side of the area, and while he was off the pitch being treated, Craig Reynolds spanked the ball low round the wall and past O'Neill in the Robins goal on 44 mins. It was Thorne that set up the 3rd goal just before the break with a run down the left which he cut back for for Reynolds to run onto and blast in from just outside the box. The home team pushed forward from the start of the second half but a smart ball forward in the middle put Ian Thorne clean through and after rounding the keeper tapped the ball into an empty net to make it 4-1 on 49mins. To say we were cruising would be a lie, every cross, freekick and corner seemed to find Ruben Max Grant and he got his 2nd on 53 mins, again heading down from Marcus Sawer's corner. This danger should have been a big wake up call but on 70 mins a long ball forward from the right found Grant, who chested down past the last man and fired in from the left. The equaliser came 4 mins from the end when Rory Hunter took a touch and fired in a ball from the right hand side, and the home supporters only had 2 more minutes to wait for the winner from Grant again heading in after a run and cross from the left.
Nigel Blower, Scott Rennie, James Diplock, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Sean Turner, Ryan Mitchell, Mark Holmes (67 Callum Donnelly), Ian Thorne, Craig Reynolds. Subs not used, Rav Hayer, Tommy Hull

Extra Preliminary round HERTFORD TOWN 1 STOTFOLD 2
Sean Turner opened the scoring against the Spartan South Midlands League side on 24 mins Running onto a poor clearance firing in a low strike from just inside the penalty area. After Turner had hit the bottom of the upright in the second half the home team levelled when Leo Turner was felled by Ricky Gerharty for a penalty which was converted by Ryan Redford on 55 mins. But sub Wayne Blows came on and with a glancing header from Ryan Nicholl's cross earned us an away tie against Broxbourne V&E on Saturday the 6th Sept.
Nigel Blower, James Diplock (32 Patrick Alcide), Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty, Richard Beckett, Ryan Nicholl, Sean Turner, Ryan Mitchell (81 Rav Hayer), Marc Holmes (68 Wayne Blows), Ian Thorne, Craig Reynolds.

WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN 3 STOTFOLD 2
Jermaine Daley silenced the 200 strong crowd in the first 5 mins when he headed down Ian Thorne's cut back ball after some good footwork on the left, but the lead only lasted 7 mins as David Bond was put through and slotted the ball Nigel to the far post. The rest of the half saw the home team create the better chances but they didn't take the lead until defender Tim Wooding's free kick from wide on the right was deflected under the crossbar on 63 mins. A defence splitting pass allowed Jon Mitchell run onto the ball and grab the third 5 mins later but the goal of the match wasnt to come until 4 mins from time when a superb run into the box from Sean Turner saw him get forced wide to the right of goal by the home keeper and loft the ball into a crowded box for Craig Reynolds to leap up and crack in a great volley from inside the 6 yd box. We will have our chance to overturn this result when they come to Roker Park in a couple of weeks in the FA Vase.
Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty, Rav Hayer, Craig Reynolds, Jermaine Daley (58 David Kiddie), Ryan Mitchell, Marc Holmes, Ian Thorne (82 Wayne Blows), Sean Turner. Subs not used, Nathan Moulton, James Diplock.

FA CUP BROXBOURNE BOROUGH V&E 1 STOTFOLD 1

Reynolds fires into top corner
The windy conditions made this not the nicest cup tie to watch, with Ian Thorne coming closest in the first half sticking a low shot from the edge of the box past the Broxbourne keeper but hitting the bottom of the upright. As the first 45 was comming to an end the home team created the better chances until a needless tackle outside the box gave Craig Reynolds the opportunity to curl a free kick into the top corner with the last kick of the half. The second half saw Broxbourne come into the game and they levelled the scoreline when a mix up in defence resulted in Tan Tenzel stabbing a loose ball low past Nigel to the far corner on 53 mins. A superb a handed low save stopped Boro' taking the lead 7 mins later when Gazmend Dauti found himself in acres of space on the right hand side. The home team looked the stronger team in the second half and Stotfolds only real chance came when Ryan Nicholl chipped Sean Turner's cross from the right over the bar. All back to ours on Tuesday night with the winner away to Haverhill in a fortnights time. Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty, Richard Beckett, Ryan Nicholl, Sean Turner, Jermaine Daley (76 Rav Hayer), Marc Holmes, Ian Thorne, Craig Reynolds. Subs not used, Lee Downham, David Kiddie

FA CUP REPLAY STOTFOLD 0 BROXBOURNE V&E 4
Two goals in the first half from Danny Ward and two in the second from Emiel Aitken ended any hopes of a good cup run this season. Broxbourne looked a much sharper team than the one we played on Saturday and fully deserved their win and a place in the next round against Haverhill. Nigel Blower, Jermaine Daley, Patrick Alcide, Richard Beckett (46 Joe Philbin), Ricky Geraghty, David Kiddie (46 Craig Reynolds), Ryan Nicholl, Rav Hayer (72 Wayne Blows), Marc Holmes, Ian Thorne, Lee Downham. Subs not used, Luke Nicholl, Howard Fisher

F.A.VASE STOTFOLD 1 WELLINGBOROUGH 3
After the disappointment of Tuesday night Stotfold started brightly with good possesion and a couple of chances, but the visitors took the lead when Jon Mitchell headed the ball past the last defender and run forward to slot the ball past Nigel on 30 mins. 9 mins later and a flicked ball forward from Jermaine Daley on the right set Ian Thorne off, who slipped 1 defender and shot low past John Hughes in the Wellingborough goal. The second half saw another good start from Stotfold with Thorne having a shot cleared off the line and some good balls into the box from the right, but a rather harsh penalty was awarded when Jamie Gilsenan was tackled inside the box and Darren Collins calmly stroked home from the spot on 60 mins. This knocked the Stotfold players out of their stride and 7 mins later Jon Mitchell run in from the right hand side past 3 defenders and shot low to the far post to make it 3.
Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Richard Beckett, Jermaine Daley (84Marc Holmes), Ryan Nicholl, Wayne Blows (74 Sean Turner), Ian Thorne, Steven Blower (82 Joe Philbin). Subs not used, Nathan Moulton, Howard Fisher

ST.NEOTS 1 STOTFOLD 2Wayne BlowsIan Thorne
What a great place to get your first league win of the season, especially after going a goal behind after 10 mins. Steve Khune fired into the top of the net from close range after Nigel Blower got down well to parry Simon Claridge's header, but the lead only lasted 3 mins when Ryan Nicholls early free kick set Wayne Blows off on the right, who instead of crossing the ball into the box as most people were expecting looped a shot over keeper Martin Patching and into the far top corner. Ricky Gerharty came closest to increasing the lead after having a header cleared off the line, he then shot straight at Wayne Blows and then had his header tipped over the bar. But on 29 mins Richard Becketts ball forward allowed both Lee Downham and Ian Thorne to beat the offside trap with Thorne taking the ball into the box and rounding the keeper for a tap in. Marc Holmes linked up well with Thorne on the right to create the best chance of the second half forcing the home keeper to tip his shot onto the bar on 76mins with St Neots' best chance dissallowed when they bundled the ball over the line shortly after. Despite a few tired legs we still created chances in the second half and fully earned all 3 points. Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Richard Beckett, Steven Blower, Ryan Nicholl, Wayne Blows, Ian Thorne, Lee Downham (63 Marc Holmes) . Subs not used, Sean Turner, Joe Philbin, Howard Fisher

HOLBEACH 1 STOTFOLD 1

Stotfold created the better chances in the first half and took the lead on 30 mins when a ball forward from Wayne Blows put Ian Thorne clean though to calmly round the keeper and pass into an empy net, Blows had 2 good chances to double the lead before Nigel was forced to make a superb save from Ian Dunn's header to keep us in the lead at half time. Thorne had the best chance of the second half just missing out on a header at the far post before Holbeach sub Omar Joof came on and after 5 mins a low weak shot from the edge of the box caught Nigel flat footed and rolled into the back of the net a share of the points on 70 mins. Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ricky Geraghty (86 Jermaine Daley), Simon Drury, Richard Beckett, Marc Holmes, Ryan Nicholl, Wayne Blows, Ian Thorne, Steven Blower (76 Lee Downham) . Subs not used, David Kiddie, Nathan Moulton

STOTFOLD 2 ST. NEOTS 3
Managerless St Neots took the lead in the 4th minute when Ashley Deverall's free kick from the left sailed through the box and and into the bottom far corner, the lead only lasted 8 mins when Patrick Alcide ball forward allowed Ian Thorne to take the ball past the keeper Ryan Hunt and pass the ball into an empty net. The visitors lead was restored again on 19 mins when Sean Murray's low shot from the edge of the box beat Nigel as he dived to his right. The second half started worse than the first when Mark Franklyn's 1-2 made him space to get a low shot to make it 3-1 on 46 mins. Despite good possesion in the second half only Luke Nicholl's early free kick forced a good save from the keeper until the 90th minute when Thornes nifty footwork and cross allowed Nathan Moulton to get a header down at the keeper who could only parry the ball as far as Patrick Alcide who came running in and bundled the ball over the line.
Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ryan Mitchell (88 David Kiddie), Simon Drury, Richard Beckett, Marc Holmes (72 Nathan Moulton), Ryan Nicholl, Wayne Blows, Ian Thorne, Joe Philbin. Subs not used, Jermaine Daley, Luke Knightly

STOTFOLD 0 NEWPORT PAGNELL 2
A much improved first half from Saturdays performance with Lee Downham's shooting wide, after Pagnell keeper Lee Purcell had spilled Alcide's cross, and Marc Holmes having his shot cleared off the line we could well have gone into the second half 2 up. But the visitors also showed their capabilities in the first 45 with Martin Kelly skimming the outside of the upright and Richard Armstong diving into the box to head a corner wide. Pagnell made all 3 subs early in the 2nd half and looked the better team after a strong 5 mins getting the breakthrough on 64 mins when Tony Hill fired in from close range after the ball had been cleared off the line. Hill hit the bottom of the upright 5 mins later before the lead was doubled on 83 mins when sub Joe Ramscar was well placed at the far post to place a flicked on corner into the back of the net. Stotfolds best chances of this half came right near the end with Ian Thorne having his shot cleared off the line and Adam Furness shooting over from just inside the box.
Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Ryan Mitchell, Simon Drury, Richard Beckett, Marc Holmes, Ryan Nicholl, Nathan Moulton (70 Adam Furness), Ian Thorne, Lee Downham. Subs not used, Stephen Blower, David Kiddie

S&L CORBY 7 STOTFOLD 0
The less said about our heaviest defeat in many years, to what you could call one of the weaker teams in the League, the better. As it happens I have a sore finger and typing this up is quite uncomfortable so I will keep it brief. Corby took the lead when Michael Keall's deflected shot looped over Nigel 3 mins in. Goals from Steve Julian 11 mins, Bobby Dean 19, Dominic Johnson 21 and Greg Mcilwain 31 made it 5-0 at the break. Keall got his second on 58 mins and sub Pete Sneddon finished off the scoring with a low shot in off the upright on 85 mins.
Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton (46 Joe Philbin), Jamie Taylor, Simon Drury, Ryan Mitchell, Richard Beckett, Ryan Nicholl, Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Lee Downham (53 Marc Holmes). Subs not used, Nathan Moulton, David Kiddie

WOOTTON 5 STOTFOLD 0
Another bad day at the office despite creating as many good chances as goals we conceded. The first fell for Adam Furness on 4 mins lifting the ball over the keeper and the bar. Wootton took the lead on the 8th minute when Leon Cashman nicked the ball off the last defender and after taking the ball wide crossed to Darek Jozwiak whos shot came off the upright and fell for Cashman who volleyed in. Craig Daniel got the first of his hat trick on 28 mins with a low shot to the far post from the right, Defender Tom Hole fired in the 3rd on 30 mins and Daniel got his second on 37 mins. The 5th goal came in the first minute of the second half when Daniel was given time to turn from a sliding challenge and shoot low to Tony Harvey's (in for an unavaliable Blower) right. Furness hit the underside of the bar and Purton and Downham both came close but for the 3rd game running no Stotfold names on the scoresheet.
Tony Harvey, Patrick Alcide, Stephen Purton, Richard Beckett (63 Joe Philbin), Simon Drury, Ricky Gerharty, Ryan Nicholl, Ryan Mitchell, Adam Furness (74 Lee Downham), Ian Thorne, Conor Delacy (81 Marc Holmes).

LEAGUE KO CUP DESBOROUGH 5 STOTFOLD 4
This result was harsh on Adam Furness who scored four times only to see Stotfold concede five at the other end! Adam FurnessDesborough never trailed during the contest though as Stotfold spent the afternoon playing catch up. Matty O'Neill gave Ar Tarn the lead three minutes in before Furness opened his account after ten minutes. Anthony Page restored Desborough's advantage after 26 minutes and the midfielder followed up four minutes later with his second to leave the home side in interval control. The Eagles took flight at the start of the second half with Furness reducing the arrears after 46 minutes and levelling three minutes later. Parity proved short lived though with Danny Rogers putting Desborough back in the lead after 55 minutes and Matt Ross gave Ar Tarn a two goal cushion after 64. Furness again hauled Stotfold back into the contest after 73 minutes but the Eagles were unable to find a leveller. Tony Harvey, Patrick Alcide, Steve Purton, Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Jamie Taylor, Ryan Nicholl, Conor Delacy (Lee Downham), Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Joe Philbin (Wayne Blows). Subs not used, Richard Beckett

STOTFOLD 2 BUCKINGHAM 1
Ryan Nichol
The first win for manager Mark Teeling after 5 games in charge and a good all round performance.
Stephen Purton ran the length of the pitch only to shoot into the side netting 10 mins in, and a fingertip save from Tony Harvey kept ex Stotfold defender Dean Chapman's shot at bay 5 mins later. The first goal came on 30 mins when Furness on the left squared the ball to Ryan Nicholl on the edge of the box for him to fire low to Reese Kirk's left in the visitors goal. A good spell at the start of the second half saw Philbin, Furness and Purton all trouble the Robins keeper before Ian Thorne was tugged back in the box as he was leaving Dave King in his wake, allowing Furness to step up and power in the second from the spot on 66 mins. The second goal was a much needed cushion as Buckingham, after a brief goal mouth scramble, grabbed one back through sub Danny Phillips' strike with 5 mins to go.
Tony Harvey, Patrick Alcide, Steve Purton, Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Jamie Taylor, Ryan Nicholl, Conor Delacy (Tommy Hull), Adam Furness (Wayne Blows), Ian Thorne, Joe Philbin (Lee Downham). Subs not used, Russell Bull

Ricky GeraghtyYAXLEY 0 STOTFOLD 2

In a good first half Ricky Geraghty's header down from Ryan Nicholl's corner gave us an early lead 6 mins into the game. A weak backpass from defender Jimmy Dean lead to the second goal as Conor Delacy ran on to beat keeper Lea Jordan to the ball, Jordan tripped Delacy and the ref pointed straight to the spot. Furness, as on Tuesday night, belted the penalty past Jordan on 27 mins. Good chances for Thorne, Furness and Downham followed in the second half but good stops from both keepers gave us our first clean sheet of the season and another 3 points, which after Tuesday's result move us from 20th up to 15th.Tony Harvey, Jamie Taylor, Steve Purton, Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Conor Delacy , Adam Furness, Ian Thorne (85 Tommy Hull), Joe Philbin (72 Lee Downham). Subs not used, Russell Bull

STOTFOLD 1 DEEPING RANGERS 1
It may only be 1 point, but againstTony Harvey an unbeaten Deeping side, this was a good result. We don't often mention a man of the match, but keeper Tony Harvey's performance this evening was superb. After 2 good chances came and went at the Deeping end for Ryan Mitchell and Callum Donnelly, the visitors took the lead on 13 mins through Lee Ellison when he headed down from a corner. A collision between defenders allowed Danny Matson a good chance but he was seen wide by Harvey on 23 mins. Mark Baines was also put clean through twice for Rangers but both shots were well stopped before the break. The Stotfold goal came on 60 mins when Donnelly, in for suspended Ian Thorne, ran down the right and crossed to the far post for Joe Philbin to beat the defender to the ball and fire in. 10 mins later and after a goalmouth scramble, Jamie Taylor was judged to have handled the ball and Danny Matson stepped up to take the pen. After Harvey parried low to his left Matson hit the rebound wide of the far post and empty net. There was still another great save left in Harveys locker when Mark Baines was put clean through 4 mins from time, its just a shame Eagle Bitter dont make Man of the Match Awards.
Tony Harvey, Jamie Taylor, Steve Purton, Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury ( 48 Patrick Alcide), Ryan Nicholl, Conor Delacy, Callum Donnelly, Joe Philbin ( 74 Russell Bull), Lee Downham ( 82 Tommy Hull). Subs not used, Nathan Moulton

NORTHAMPTON SPENCER 2 STOTFOLD 0
Stotfold's mini revival came to an end at Kingsthorpe Mill as two first half goals kept the Millers in touch with league leaders Wellingborough at the top of the table. Pete Gregory gave Spencer the lead after 18 minutes and Ben Foster's eleventh goal of the season seven minutes later gave them a winning lead.Taken from Football Mitoo.

ST. IVES 6 STOTFOLD 0

The first goal came in the 25th minute when Stefan Lewis headed in from a free kick in the centre circle, Lee Downham cleared a corner through the box off the line at the back post before Liam Kennett got the second on 37 mins , a diagonal ball putting him clean through to lift the ball over and around Harvey. A push in the box was enough for the referee to give a penalty at the end of the first half, which was tucked into the bottom corner by captain Will Fordham. Jason King got the 4th 15 mins into the second half when he shot through Harvey from close range, and a diving header at the far post from a free kick on the right put Stefan Lewis on the scoresheet. Sub James Clarke got the last goal of the night flicking in a ball across the box on 75 mins.

STOTFOLD 1 BLACKSTONES 3
Blackstones opening goal came in the 7th minute when Richard Thompson looped his header over Tony Harvey who palmed it onto the bar and then into the net. What seemed like a clash of legs between 2 players led to the free kick which Kevin Anslie fired past the wall and into the back of the net on 25 mins. Richard Jones had 3 headed chances to put this game well out of reach, hitting Tony's chest and the crossbar twice in the space of 15 mins. The second half saw a better Stotfold performance but not until the visitors got their third when Phil Stebbing flicked in a low ball into the box on 58 mins. Ian Thorne managed to fire over the bar after being teed up by Joe Philbin before Louis Lee on his Stotfold debut ran into the box and fired into roof of the net on 68 mins. After receiving his top goalscorer of the month award just before kick off Adam Furness managed to miss 2 good chances and Ian Thorne had a goal disallowed for offside but the second half was very encouraging. Tony Harvey, Patrick Alcide, Joe Philbin, Ryan Mitchell (46 Scott Rennie) Ricky Geraghty, Jamie Taylor, Ryan Nicholl, Louis Lee, Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Lee Downham, (46 Callum Donnelly) Subs not used, Michael Leon, Russell Bull

STOTFOLD 0 LONG BUCKBY 2
The Visitors did most of the first half attacking with Tony making saves from, Craig Kelly with a curling shot from the left, and Danny Dugan heading down from a corner. Stotfolds best chances in the first half came for Furness witha low shot at the keeper from the left and Louis Lee powerfully shooting from distance but just over the bar. Furness had 2 good chances at the start of the second half, the first when he was put clean through by Ryan Mitchell but was denied by the oversized Paul Warnecki in the Buckby goal, and 2 mins later Warnecki tipped over his flick from Lee's cross from the left. Ryan Mitchell shot low and wide through the box, on 67 mins after being teed up by Rennie and Craig Kelly had his header from a cross from the right tipped over 5 mins later. A ball forward on 75 mins found Furness clear of the last man, and after getting to the right of the box unchallenged, shot low beating the keeper but went just wide of the far post. The first Buckby goal came on 82 mins when Adrian Mann, found himself in a bit of space on the edge of the box with nobody closing him down, decided to have a shot firing low to Harveys left. The second goal came just before stoppage time, with many players and fans alike appealing for offside, as Kevin Slinn lobbed Tony when he came off his line.
Tony Harvey, Scott Rennie, Simon Drury (Lee Downham, Jack Mitchell), Ryan Mitchell (Conor Delacy), Ricky Geraghty, Jamie Taylor, Patrick Alcide, Louis Lee, Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Ryan Nicholl.

BEDS SENIOR CUP STOTFOLD 5 LANGFORD 4
The tone for the match was set in the first few minutes with Langford taking the lead when what looked to be a header across goal, from the right, from Joe Delasalle flew in at the far post. The lead only lasted 3 mins before Ian Thorne's flicked header from Ryan Nicholls corner made it 1 all. Patrick Alcide headed Rob Groves' corner past Nigel Blower on 20 mins after Stotfold had to replace defenders Scott Rennie and Jamie Taylor both through injury. A neat flick from Nicholl was collected by a good diagonal run from Louis Lee who tucked his shot under Edward Windsor in the Langford goal on 28 mins. 2 mins later, when there seemed to be nothing on, 16 yr old Tommy Hull lobbed the keeper from outside the box to give Stotfold the lead for the first time in the match. Having had the better chances in the first half Langford drew level on the stroke of half time when a ball from the left picked out James Bywater on the right for him to side foot in. Langfords 4th came 10 mins into the second half when a poor headed clearance fell to Lee Pateman who wrong footed the last defender to make a bit of space and shot low to Nigels right. The visitors again created the better chances with 2 shots comming off the woodwork and Rob Groves' volley from the left straight down Nigels throat allowing him to parry over, but they were made to pay for the missed chances when Joe Philbin headed in Nicholls free kick on 81 mins. After Ian Thorne's shot ricocheted off the keeper, then his legs and over on 90 mins it seemed as if we were going into extra time but a minute into stoppage time Edward Windsor slipped over on a routine backpass allowing Thorne to cheekily run onto the ball crouch down and head it over the line. Nigel Blower, Patrick Alcide, Scott Rennie (18 Joe Philbin), Tommy Hull, Jamie Taylor (25 Simon Drury), Joe Smith, Conor Delacy, Louis Lee, Adam Furness (64 Jack Mitchell), Ian Thorne, Ryan Nicholl.Subs not used Lee Downham, Ryan Mitchell.

DESBOROUGH 3 STOTFOLD 1
After having a shot cleared off the line on the 3rd minute a ball into the box from the right bounced in front of a defender and was met on the right by Daniel Pownell who volleyed in unchallenged on 7 mins. The 2nd came on the half hour when a defensive slip let Tom Mills through to lob Tony from the edge of the box. The second half saw the home team have the better chances again and Matty O'Neil got the third when he powerfully side footed in a corner from the nearside corner of the box on 53 mins. Our goal came with 9 mins to go when Ian Thorne nicked the ball off Glyn Davis while he was trying to hold things up and after running into the box sent the keeper the wrong way to slot in. Tony Harvey, Patrick Alcide, Joe Philbin, Tommy Hull, Joe Smith, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Conor Delacy (Matt Clarke), Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Jack Mitchell (Callum Donnelly).

NEWPORT PAGNELL 2 STOTFOLD 0
It would be fair to say we were unlucky not to come away with any points tonight after a good all round performance. Ian Thorne thought he had got the opener on 14 mins, after a good run down the right from Furness and a ball cut back to him to shoot, beat keeper Joe Purcell but was cleared off the line by Nick Doherty. John Thorpe shot over from a free kick on the left on 25 mins before Louis Lee pulled up with hamstring trouble and was replaced by Conor Delacy on 28 mins. A good header forward from Ryan Mitchell was run onto by Furness who shot wide on the half hour and 5 mins before the break Vinnie Shrieves hit a low shot on the turn wide. 5 mins into the break and Furness had a good low strike from the left deflected wide followed by 3 shots from distance by the home team all missing the target. The best chance of the match came when Mitchell played the ball forward for Thorne on the left who chose not to shoot but pick out Furness in the middle who was better positioned and shot low to the keepers right but the wrong side of the upright on 58 mins. A good parry from Steven Graham kept out Martin Kelly's free kick on 61 mins was followed shortly after by Mitchell's header down from a corner which saw Joe Purcell just beat Furness to the ball. A double substitution gave Danny Nicholls his opportunity to grab a headline which he did with his first touch of the ball flicking Richard Armstrong's ball forward over Graham into the far corner of the net on 75 mins. Geraghty headed down and just wide from a corner a few mins later but after Graham handled the ball outside the area Martin Kelly had another chance from a free kick. Graham parried low to his right but the ball fell for Richard Armstrong who was ready for the rebound and tapped the ball in on 85 mins. Steven Graham, Tommy Hull, Simon Drury, Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Stuart Hammonds, Louis Lee (Conor Delacy), Ryan Nicholl, Adam Furness, Ian Thorne, Joe Philbin (Callum Donnelly). Subs not used Joe Smith, Lee Downham, Tony Harvey

LONG BUCKBY 3 STOTFOLD 4 Ian Thorne
With only 1 point out of the last 7 league games this was a much needed and well deserved win.
Ian Thorne opened the scoring on 16 mins, after a good run down the right and into the box, he drilled the ball low intoAdam Furness the far corner. Furness volleyed Tommy Hull's ball forward into the side netting on 26 mins before he foung the back of the net side footing in Donnelly's cross on 33 mins. The home side pulled 1 back a minute before the break when a free kick from the right was headed down in the box to Lee Botterill whose shot deflected off Geraghty and over Graham as he dived to his right. Callum Donnelly picked out Ian Thorne in a great position on the right hand side of the box on 52 mins only for Thorne to slice the shot to the opposite corner flag. The 2 goal cushion was restored 5 mins later when a foul on Callum at the corner flag gave us a free kJoe Philbinick that Nicholl played short to Joe Philbin who superbly lobbed Paul Warnecki, one of the biggest keepers in the league, from the edge of the box. Only 3 mins had passed when failure to close down Kevin Slinn on the edge of the box allowed him to dig a shot into the top corner. A good run down the right and cut back from Philbin made it 4-2 when Furness fired into the top right hand corner from the left of the box on 74 mins. A rush of blood to Grahams head 3 mins later, when he wrestled Kevin Slinn as he was going away from goal, gave Slinn the opportunity to get back into the game from the spot but Graham redeemed himself by palming the kick away and Simon Drury cleared the danger before Slinn got to the rebound. The last goal of the game came with 4 mins to go when Danny Duggan flicked in a corner through a crowded box and apart from a few nervy moments in stoppage time we were well worth all 3 points. Steven Graham, Joe Smith, Joe Philbin, Tommy Hull, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Ryan Mitchell, Adam Furness (Jack Mitchell), Ian Thorne, Callum Donnelly (Lee Downham).

HUNTS PREMIER CUP ST. NEOTS 5 STOTFOLD 2
The first goal of the evening came for Stotfold's Ryan Aldrin who, after hitting the upright 3 mins earlier from some good closing down, struck an unstopable belter of a volley from the right hand side of the box on 13 mins. Steve Young's men drew level 6 mins later when Mark Franklin ran in from the right and shot low under Tony Harvey. A bit of good luck gave the saints the lead when Wes Byrne's shot from the edge of the box, looked as if it had been palmed over the bar, looped up and fell into the back of the net on the half hour. 10 mins later and the assistant referee flagged for a penalty as Wes was trying to wriggle round Jamie Taylor. Captain Russell Lawes stepped up and sent Tony the wrong way. The start of the second half saw a cracking shot from Wes from the left hand side of the box fly in under Tony on 49mins. The rest of the halfsaw a few blocked shots with both goals coming at the end. Craig Reynolds smartly switched feet in the box to curl the ball in with his left foot on 87 mins and a minute later Ryan Nicholl picked his spot nicely from the edge of the box. Tony Harvey, Scott Rennie (Joe Philbin), Michael Ettitnne, Ryan Mitchell (Ryan Nicholl), Jamie Taylor, Sean Penny, Ryan Aldrin (Antony Bowskill), Rob Beckwith, Nathan Moulton, Lee Downham, Jack Mitchell.

FORD SPORTS 3 STOTFOLD 1

The first half started well enough with Thorne and Donnelly both getting into good positions but shooting over the bar in the first couple of minutes. Fords' Johnathan Crockett hit the upright on 4 mins but the first goal came from Lee Downhama free kick on the edge of the D, and after the ref spoke to Tim Clack he hopped out of the way to allow Clack to fire into the top corner while the wall was still being arranged on 9 mins. The equaliser came in the second half after a good penetrating run and ball in from the right by Jamie Taylor allowed an unmarked Lee Downham to side foot the ball in from close range on 58 mins. A good penalty shout fell on deaf ears when Thorne had his legs taken away was followed 15 mins later by a pen at the other end that saw Frank Maher's low kick saved by Graham. This good save proved to be in vain 3 mins later when sub Simeon Nembhard stretched out to direct a ball in from the left into the roof of the net. Any hopes of getting something from the game were laid to rest when anoter ball from the left hand side was side footed in, by the other sub Sigitas Kazemekas, unmarked in the middle of the box. Steven Graham, Jamie Taylor, Joe Philbin (Jack Mitchell), Ryan Mitchell, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Tommy Hull, Callum Donnelly, Ian Thorne, Lee Downham (Joe Smith).

DEEPING 10 STOTFOLD 0

Unfortunately this is not a typing error, with several 'senior' players unavailable Deeping forced our heaviest defeat in recent times upon the youngest squad in the clubs history. After a couple of good chances for Callum Donnelly in the first 10 mins the home team took the lead on 14 mins through Mark Baines after Danny Matson's shot came off the crossbar. Matson grabbed after linking up with Baines again 4 mins later quickly followed by Baines' second a minute later. A low shot after winning the ball on the right gave Matson his second on 24 mins then 3 goals in 4 mins followed before the break, Matson with a lob 42, John Stead shot from the edge of the box 43, and Matson 45 knocking in Steads rebounded free kick. A couple of good stops from Clive Wetherall kept Rangers at bay for the start of the second half but only until the 50th minute when Tom Liberatore ran through and struck into the top corner. Danny Matson headed in a cross from the left to the far post to make his total for the evening 4 on 58 mins, with the last goal of the evening falling for Stead as a cross from the left fall at his feet and he fired into the bottom corner 8 mins from time. Clive Wetherall, Joe Smith, (Rob Beckwith), Joe Philbin, Ryan Mitchell, Jamie Taylor (Sean Penny), Tommy Hull, Louis Lee (Ryan Aldrin), Ryan Nicholl, Nathan Moulton, Callum Donnelly, Lee Downham.

STOTFOLD 0 YAXLEY 1
After the last two defeats and only 11 points from 17 league games, Mark Teeling and the club have parted company by mutual consent.
The previous Roker Park managment team of Ian Allinson and Ian Donnelly have taken charge as of this Saturday but were unable to avoid defeat as Mark Paul got his 15th goal of the season for Yaxley at the start of the second half to give the visitors all 3 points. Steve Graham, Jamie Taylor, Joe Philbin, Danny Kennoy, Ricky Geraghty, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Louis Lee (Adam Furness), Ian Thorne, Tommy Hull (Ryan Mitchell), Callum Donnelly (Michael Ettienne).

STOTFOLD 0 POTTON 4
In an evenly matched first half the first good chance fell for Ryan Nicholl on 20 mins who, after Ian Thorne's good run down the right and ball in, couldn't get enough power on the header down to beat Brad Gilham. The price for this miss was paid 3 mins later when the ball was lost in midfield and after a run down the right Paul Garrett fired the ball in under Steve Graham. A free kick after Graham had handled a goal kick outside the area was teed up for Garrett who fired straight at Graham on 25 mins. Another great chance came for Nicholl on 34 mins after some good work down the right from Ricky Case, but a good sliding challenge from Luke Donnelly prevented the equaliser. Despite having the better possesion in the second half Gillham had very little to do, 5 mins in and a ball fizzed across the face of goal just escaped the outstretched boot of Ricky Case. Jamie Taylor and Ryan Nicholl both shot wide and Barry Sells volleyed a good chance over before a second yellow card was shown to Danny Kennoy for what looked like a good strong tackle on 85 mins allowing Paul Donnelly to put the free kick in from the left to the far post where Steve Khune's touch deflected up and over the defender on the line and into the back of the net. Failure to clear our lines led to the 3rd goal on 90 mins when Lee Allinson was putting people under pressure and knocked the ball in. Allinson's collision with Steve Graham when he collected a ball forward in stoppage time, was enough to earn the keeper his second yellow and marching orders, and give Steve Khune the fourth from the penalty spot firing the ball under Callum Donnelly.
Steve Graham, Jamie Taylor, Joe Philbin, Simon Drury (Callum Donnelly) , Ricky Geraghty, Andy Reid, Ryan Nicholl, Tommy Hull, Ian Thorne, Danny Kennoy, Ricky Case (Adam Furness), Subs Not used: Lee Downham, Michael Ettienne.

STOTFOLD 1 DESBOROUGH 1
Starting the first half with the wind behind them Stotfold created the better chances in the first half with recent signing Tawhid Juneja coming close in the first 5 mins heading Ryan Nicholl's free kick from the right just wide of the upright. A few mins later, Ian Thorne's volley through a crowded box was cleared off the line, with the visitors best chance in the first half coming from Mark Forbes' shot from distance going over the bar. A good forceful run from Thorne into the box five minutes before the break should have been rewarded with at least a shot on target but lack of support meant his ball across the face of goal was easily dealt with. The second half was a more open contest with Nigel Blower parrying Michael Sneddons shot from the right at the near post in the first 5 mins quickly followed by Ian Thorne putting a great ball across goal at the other end just evading Ricky Case's outstretched boot. The breakthrough came on the 60th minute when Joe Philbin's cut back ball from the left hand byline was glanced into the far corner of the net by the head of Ryan Nicholl. Despite a good strike straight at Desborough keeper Sean Allen from Thorne and a Callum Donnelly's header from distance over the bar Stotfold just couldnt find the comfort of a second goal and after a debatable handball/ball to hand decision on the left flank, Jamie O'Neill headed in the equaliser with a minute of normal time remaining. Nigel Blower, Jamie Taylor, Joe Philbin, Simon Drury, Tawhid Juneja, Louis Lee (Tommy Hull), Ryan Nicholl, Danny Kennoy, Ian Thorne, Bobby Dance (Callum Donnelly), Ricky Case. Subs Not used:Darren Pomroy, Andy Reid

BOURNE 4 STOTFOLD 2
Ricky Case opened the scoring at Abbey Lawn with a ball forward from Simon Drury on the left hand side allowing him to fire into the roof of the net from just inside the box on 10 mins. The home team levelled 6 mins later when Miles Mason was put clean through with a ball over the top and after Nigel got down well to block the ball at his feet the ball fell again for Mason who lofted the ball over the covering defender into the back of the net. Two good chances followed for Bobby Dance on the left with a shot over the bar and one straight at keeper Ben Derbyshire, but Bourne had the better opportunity to go in ahead at the break after a goalmouth scramble from a corner finished with Miles Mason heading onto the bar from inside the 6yd box. A sloppy pass between defenders was intercepted by Bourne on the left and the cross was met by an unmarked Mason in the box who had time to take a touch and shoot low under Nigel on 62 mins. Ricky Case had a couple of chances to level the scoreline almost getting a head onto Louis Lee's wide shot and firing Juneja's header down wide. The 3rd and 4th goals came within 3 mins of each other with Chad Miller heading in a flicked on corner on 72 mins and sub Johnny Currall finding himself with enough space to take a touch before firing into the bottom corner from a freekick on the left hand side. Juneja had a good shot on turn blocked by the keepers feet 10 mins before the end before Bobby Dance pulled 1 back after his good footwork (dance - footwork get it?) created enough space for a low shot in the 90th minute.
Nigel Blower, Andy Reid, Joe Philbin, Tommy Hull, Tawhid Juneja, Simon Drury, Ryan Nicholl, Bobby Dance, Adrian Hemmell, Louis Lee (Darren Pomroy), Ricky Case (Ian Thorne). Subs Not used: Danny McCiver, Lee Downham.

NORTH BEDS CHARITY CUP CRANFIELD 0 STOTFOLD 9
The dismissal of Cranfields Vasco Diaz, 10 mins into the game, ruined this match as a competition but after taking objection to Ricky Geraghtys challenge decided to keep pushing Geraghty until the referee had no other option but give him his marching orders. It took Stotfold until the 32nd minute to finally score after Adrian Hemmel crossed from the right for Ian Thorne to volley in. A good low strike from the edge of the box from Louis Lee found keeper Dan Rogers flat footed for the second 3 mins later with Lee Downham sidefooting in the 3rd at the far ost after Thorne's cross from the right. Thorne provided the ball forward for the fourth allowing Bobby Dance to slip in on the right hand side on 43 mins. The second half saw no Let up in the pressure as Simon Drury fired through a crowded box on 55 mins, Ryan Nicholl struck low from the edge of the box, 60 mins, and Bobby Dance got himself a second with a long range effort on 72 mins. A neat flick over the defence from Dance allowed Adrian Hemmel to fire in on 79mins, after his first shot was blocked by the keeper, leaving Sub Darren Pomroy to get the last one of the evening volleying in Joe Philbins cross from the left. We will be away to the winners of the Potton/Arlesey Athletic match in the next round. Nigel Blower, Tommy Hull, Lee Downham,
Simon Drury (Joe Philbin), Ricky Geraghty, (Callum Donnelly) Ryan Nicholl, Louis Lee, (Darren Pomroy) Ian Thorne, Bobby Dance, Adrian Hemmel. Subs Not used: Tawhid Juneja

STOTFOLD 2 ST. IVES 1

Despite Stotfold having the better of the possesion in the first half, it was the visitors who had the best chance of the first half on 37 mins when Liam Kennett's powerful strike from right was parried over the bar at the near post by Nigel. Callum Donnelly made a good run inside from the right and his left footed shot went just wide of the bottom of the upright on 57 mins. Six minutes later Ricky Case almost opened the scoring after he was picked out by Joe Philbins free kick on the right, but after chipping the ball up in the air his shot on the turn was straight at keeper Rob Mackney. The first Stotfold goal came on 66mins from good swift passing from one end of the pitch to the other finishing with Tommy Hull's ball forward for the returning Wes Byrne to take a touch and shoot under the St. Ives keeper. The lead only lasted 3 mins when James Clarke did well to turn the last defender and shoot low to the bottom right hand corner from just inside the box. The winner came 6 mins from time after Bobby Dance picked out Louis Lee just to the left hand side of the box who struck low through a crowded box and into the back of the net.
Nigel Blower, Ryan Nicholl, Joe Philbin, Tommy Hull, Tawhid Juneja, Simon Drury, Callum Donnelly (Ian Thorne), Louis Lee, Wes Byrne, Bobby Dance (Adrian Hemmell), Ricky Case. Subs Not used: Darren Pomroy

BEDS SENIOR CUP DUNSTABLE TOWN 1 STOTFOLD 0
For large spells of this game Stotfold were a good match for this Southern League side who are currently 6th in their league. Callum Donnelly tested keeper Paul Taylor early on with strike from the left hand side of the box, and Bobby Dance's ball over the top allowed Ian Thorne a clean run at goal before he was clattered into on the edge of the box by the oncoming keeper. The resulting free kick on 10 mins was set up for Nicholl to blast in but the shot was well closed down. Dance had a low shot saved after making himself some space on the edge of the box on 15 mins, and Callum came a little closer with his shooting on 31 mins forcing the keeper to tip the ball over the bar after his dipping shot from the left. Despite getting into good positions the home team didn't force a save out of Nigel until the 34th minute when he had to tip Stuart Strange's shot through a crowded box wide. Bobby Dance flicked Nicholl's corner just over the bar ar the near post at the start of the second half and Adrian Hemmell's pressure forced a backpass out of the last defender on the corner of the box. Louis Lee's kick to the far post was headed into the side netting by Tawhid Juneja at the far post on 52 mins. A straight red card for Matthew Baldry on 78 mins, for what looked not a lot more that a raised arm against Louis Lee, seemed a bit harsh but in the last minutes we didnt make the advantage pay and from a low corner on the right and a bit of a scramble Dean Buss stabbed the ball over the line on 83 mins to take Dunstable away to a semi final against either Biggleswade Town or Arlesey Town.

BLACKSTONES 1 STOTFOLD 2

Against a team that were 5th in the table this was a great result and well deserved 3 points. The first goal of the afternoon almost came 15 mins in when Richard Jones's header from a free kick nearly looped into his own goal and Wes Byrne almost turned the rebound in off the crossbar. Louis Lee volleyed into the ground and over the bar from a corner 5 mins later and a good ball forward from Callum Donnelly set Wes Byrne off towards goal but keeper Ian Flavell was quickly Ricky Caseoff his line to clear the danger. The first goal came when Wes Byrne picked out Callum Donnelly in space on the right who ran towards goal and shot low towards the far post, the keeper got down well but could only parry the shot into the path of the oncoming Ricky Case who turned the ball in on 51 mins. Stones manager Tony Lowther was sent from the dugout 7 mins after the goal for abusing the linesman, and Dan Cotton had a good strike deflected wide from outside the box on 76 mins, but on 79 mins the cushion of a second goal came when Bobby Dance's cross from the right was flicked in at the near post by Ricky Case. The home teams goal came 5 mins before time when sub Phil Stebbing turned and fired a ball forward past, the recently ousted St. Neots manager, Steve Young, returning in the No. 1 shirt for the unavailable Blower. A second yellow card for kicking the ball away meant Ricky Case didn't play the last few minutes of the game but this win now makes us 5th from the bottom of the table.

STOTFOLD 1 WELLINGBOROUGH 2
3rd placed Wellingborough Town took the lead in the 7th minute when Michael Sneddon was put through and after rounding Nigel Blower squezed the shot past Simon Drury on the line. Simon redeemed himself on the halfhour mark when Darren Collins repeated Sneddon's earlier move only to see his shot put behind by Drury. Gordon Guile came closest for Stotfold in the first half having his his header down cleared off the line by Stewart Marshall 5 mins from the break. The visitors second came 3 mins into the second half when a ball into the box from the right was headed in by Darren Collins. A great 1 on 1 save from Nigel prevented Sneddon from getting his second as Stotfold pushed harder and were rewarded on the 65 minute when good battling from Callum Donnelly on the right set off Wes Byrne whose low shot crept in under keeper John Hughes. But despite Donnelly's curling free kick decieving the keeper going inches wide and Gordon Guile's header going just over in the last few minutes the equaliser just couldnt be found.
Nigel Blower, Ryan Nicholl (John Vooght), Dave Drury, Tommy Hull, Tawhid Juneja, Simon Drury, Louis Lee (Callum Donnelly), Danny Kennoy (Joe Philbin), Wes Byrne, Bobby Dance, Gordon Guile. Subs not used: Jamie Taylor, Darren Pomroy.

STOTFOLD 2 NORTHAMPTON SPENCER 0Wes Byrne
Another good performance and a well deserved 3 points in the bag. There wasn't too many chances in the first half, Louis Lee shot wide when visiting keeper Ollie Urquhart was out of position on the half hour, just before the break Juneja headed Callum Donnelly's free kick into the arms of Urquhart and defender Jason Gray almost headed Lee's cross into his own net at the near post. Good penalty appeals fell on deaf ears at the start of the second half when Bobby Dance's winding run into the box was abruptly halted. On 52 mins Wes Byrnes blocked cross from the right fell kindly for Ryan Nicholl who shot wide and a couple of minutes later Dance got too much contact on Donnelly's free kick from the left, sending it over the bar. The first goal came on 65 mins when Dave Drury drilled a free kick from the right low into the penalty box for Wes Byrne at the near post to get the all important flick past the keeper and defender on the line. Stotfold completely dominated the second half with 6th placed Spencer hardly entering home teams half until Tawhid Juneja had already chested down a corner and volleyed in the second goal of the afternoon on 85 mins. Nigel Blower, Ryan Nichol, Dave Drury, Danny Kennoy, Tawhid Juneja, Jamie Taylor, Louis Lee, Tommy Hull, Wes Byrne, Bobby Dance, Callum Donnelly (Gordon Guile). Subs not used Joe Philbin, Steve Young, John Vooght.

STOTFOLD 2 WOOTTON 2
Another slow start for for Stotfold in this local derby with Callum Donnelly having a couple of half chances before the 14th minute when the visitors' captain John Hoggetts low shot from a corner was well saved by Nigel Blower. On 23 mins Darek Joswiak's header down was cleared off the line but 2 mins later Craig Daniel beat the offside trap on the left and shot to the far post past Nigel and in off the upright. Daniel got his second 12 mins later almost the same way as the first, beating the offside again and this time slipping the ball under Nigel as he rushed forward. Stotfolds best chance of the first half fell for Wes Byrne after Donnellys free kick from the left was touched forward by Bobby Dance for Byrne to hit the bottom of the upright 2 mins before the break. The second half saw many more clear cut opportunities for Stotfold with Juneja and Dance both shooting over, A cross from Donnelly on the right picked out an unmarked Louis Lee who with plenty of time fired the ball the wrong side of the top corner, and Wes Byrne pouncing on a poor touch from the last defender shooting straight at the keepers chest. The first Stotfold goal didn't come until the 79th minute when Wes on the left hand side cut the ball back to Dance just inside the box. With 3 players around him, just as it looked as if he had held onto the ball for too long, he suddenly unleashed a powerful strike into the top corner giving keeper Matt Jones no chance. A last minute corner proved to be our point saver when Jamie Taylor knocked the ball back across goal towards the post for Wes Byrne to make up for earlier misses and head the ball in.

STOTFOLD 3 S & L CORBY 2
This was an important win against a side, like ourselves, sitting a bit too close the bottom of the table. The first goal came when it looked as if an attack had broken down Tommy Hull lofted the ball back into the box for Denny Kennoy, with his back to goal, to head the ball into the path of Callum Donnelly who volleyed in to get his first goal of the season on 21 mins. Less than a minute had passed when Wes Byrne flicked a ball forward to the left for Ricky Case to run onto, cut inside and fire low to the far post. The third came on 27 mins when Tawhid Juneja headed in Dave Drury's free kick from the right. 3 goals up early in the game should have meant an easy afternoon, but a rush of blood to Wes Byrnes head after a late challenge from Sean Brennan meant Stotfold were forced to play the rest of the match a man short. Gordon Guile's shot from the left on 38 mins curled wide before the visitors pulled one back 5 mins before the break when Nigel Blowers clearance was charged down by Greg Mcllwain and fired in before any defenders had a chance to get back. 6 mins into the second half and a good 1 on 1 save from Nigel denied Bobby Drain while at the other end Ricky Case and Gordon Guile both had a couple of good chances each with Case's stopped by the keeper and Guile's just off target. 7 mins from the end and Corby reduced the deficit to make for a tense end to the game when Greg Mcllwain blasted a central free kick into the top right hand corner. But the best bit of entertainment was saved until the last minute when Sean Brennan was put clean through and lobbed the ball over Nigel for what should have been the equaliser, but in the time it took him to run screaming over to the bench to celebrate, the ball had bounced off the bar and had been headed away by Dave Drury.

HINCHINGBROOKE CUP STOTFOLD 1 WOOTTON 2
Wootton skipper Darek Jozwiak gave them a 32nd minute lead from the penalty spot and Darrell Elliott added a second eighteen minutes from time. Dave Drury's reply 5 mins from the end wasn't enough to save Stotfolds last chance for silverware this season.

COGENHOE 3 STOTFOLD 2Gordon Guile shoots over
Despite the good chances Stotfold created in the first half it was only Dave Drurys shot from distance that troubled the cooks keeper Darren Watts 10 mins before the break. After missing the target when being put clean through and denied by a good stop from Nigel Blower earlier, Steve Diggin found the back of the net on 28 mins volleying in a ball across goal on the left. At the start of the second half good work from Wes on the right and a ball into the box gave Ricky Case a good opportunity to level the scores but his shot was blocked on the line and cleared to safety. 3 minutes later and Cogenhoe had doubled their lead when a good run down the right and cross was met at the far post and tapped in by Fazell Kuria on 57 mins. The third came less than 10 mins later when captain Richard Bunting fired in a ball cut back from the left hand side of goal on 64 mins. A ricocheted ball from Rob Goldring was calmly cleared off the by Simon Drury an Dan Browns shot on the turn came off the crossbar before Stotfold pulled one back when John Vooght was held back and Dave Drury fired the free kick over the wall and past the static keeper on 88 mins. 2 mins later, and after Ricky Case had crossed from the right and Dave Drury had knocked the ball back towards him onto the upright, Joe Philbin was just in the right place to stop the ball from going behind for a goal kick and work it round the post into the goal. These 2 late goals made for a nervy end to the game but an equaliser couldn't be found.

Dan Gregory's first half goal was cancelled out after Ricky Case was red carded in what should have been the end of the first half but a clash of heads meant the first half was extended by almost quarter of an hour and the equaliser went in on 59 mins. The second half saw 3 more goals for the 2nd placed home team and a second yellow for Danny Kennoy. Stuart Lockhead's free kick on 19 mins was the only difference between the two teams today with Stotfold again having plenty of possesion but failing to finish. Wes Byrne and Joe Philbin had balls bounce just in front of them in the box in the first 10 mins and a heavy first touch from Wes took a ball over the top too wide and despite getting the shot on target Brad Gillham was at the near post to collect. Steve Khune forced a good low save from Nigel Blower heading down a free kick from the left on 37 mins and The referee kept both dugouts entertained when he awarded a penalty for a shove on Wes in a crowded box only for the linesman to get his attention for the earlier offside 5 mins before the break. Luke Donnelly, after earlier being booked for decent, was given his marching orders a minute before the break again for his vocal protests but in the second half only Gordon Guile's powerful volley on 76 mins forced a good save from Brad Gillham. STOTFOLD 0 HOLBEACH 1
Shaun Keeble's goal on 4 mins was enough to give the visitors all 3 pJohn Vooghtoints despite constant Stotfold pressure. Steve Young came off his line to collect a ball forward, and after coliding with Omar Joof and losing the ball, Player/ Manager Shaun Keeble ran in and lifted the ball over Young and into the back of the net. As has been a familiar story in recent games the remaining 86 mins witnessed large amounts of Stotfold possession without the finishing. Callum Donnelly hit 2 chances over the bar, Juneja headed wide from a corner, Joel Mason forced a good low save from Kevin Cross and the best chance of the half came to John Vooght whose low shot from the left beat the keeper but bounced back off the bottom of the upright. The second half saw more of the same with Mason's good first touch taking him round the defender but shooting straight at the Holbeach keeper, Louis Lee had his first shot blocked then put his second chance over the bar. But the best chances of the second half fell for Gordon Guile who was first denied from close range by the feet of the keeper then shortly after had the ball picked off his feet after being put clean through on the left.

STOTFOLD 2 BOSTON 3

Steve Young made a good stop with his feet at the start of the match from Laszio Lovas, a curling shot from Gordon Guile on the right was deflected wide and Joel Mason was squeezed down between 2 defenders for a half hearted penalty shout. The first goal came 2 mins before the end of the first half when a run from the left and pass into the box was met by Dave Scotney stabbing the ball over the line from close range. Nine mins into the second half and the visitors were 2 ahead when the defence stepped up and Paul Goodhand ran forward from the left and drove a ball into the far post. A foul on Ricky Case 5yds out of the area gave Dave Drury the chance to pull one back which he did at the second attempt after his first free kick was deflected back to his feet on 65 mins, but the 2 goal cushion for the visitors was restored 5 mins later when a over hit defensive header back to Steve Young bounced off the upright and was bundled over the line by Gary Bull. Despite substitute Wayne Mullooly pulling another goal back on 83 mins the equaliser didn't come and that point for safety will have to wait until Tuesday.

STOTFOLD 5 COGENHOE 1
A point from toady's game would do nicely to preserve our status at this level. 3 points against the team in fourth place will do very very nicely!
A bright start saw Stotfold take the lead in the 12th minute when Joel Mason on the right set up Louis Lee for a great strike from the edge of the box, which was almost kept out by the strong hand of keeper Darren Watts, but the power meant it could only be pushed onto the underside of the bar and over the line. A good solo effort from Mason on the left 7 mins later made to 2, after a good touch took him past the keeper, he managed to squeeze his shot in from a tight angle. Mason turned provider again for the 3rd this time setting up Gordon Guile to place his shot on 26 mins, this was quickly followed by Mason's second after a free kick on the left from Callum Donnelly was put into the box from the left and Tawhid Juneja had missed the strike in the middle, Joel ran in at the far post to blast the ball into the roof of the net on 28 mins. The 5th goal didn't come until the 78th minute, after sub Wayne Mullooly first shot had been blocked and fell back to his feet, he made no mistake with the second knocking in from the middle of the box. Another superb save from the visiting keeper denied Guile before Cogenhoe pulled 1 back through Fazell Kuriya from the penalty spot after a hand ball on the edge of the box on 83 mins.

STOTFOLD 4 FORD SPORTS 0
Wayne Mullooly
After our midweek result against Cogenhoe, both Ford Sports' and our position in the league are set and todays match wasn't the bottom of the table clash it could have been. Despite good earlier chances for Joel Mason and Joe Philbin the first goal didn't come until the 45th minute when Dave Drury's corner was played short to Gordon Guile on the edge of the 6 yd box who turned and picked out Wayne Mullooly to side foot the ball in. Joel Mason thought he had got the second 5 mins into the second half only to be given offside, but after a brief spell of pressure from the visitors Mullooly knocked in his second from close range after Tawhid Juneja's header from a freekick on the right came back off the bar on 72 mins. Callum Donnelly's free kick from the left sailed through the box and was poked in at the far post by Mullooly to complete his hat trick 3 mins later, bringing his scoring record to 5 after 2 appearances from the bench and his first start today. On 85 mins sub Ryan Aldrin forced keeper Andy Millard to tip over the bar with a fiercely hit shot from distance and from the resulting corner Juneja struck the ball low to the keepers right. A good run down the right from Callum and ball into Tommy Hull resulted in a great double save from the keeper parrying Hull's shot down and then denying Aldrin the rebound 2 mins from time. STOTFOLD 3 RAUNDS 3Ian Lets the ball slip past to set up Raunds' 3rd goal
The league campaign came to an entertaining end at Roker as Stotfold and Raunds shared the spoils. The goal spree hardly looked on the cards in the first half when Stotfold's Wes Byrne was closest to a goal with a lob which bounced to safety off the foot of the post. The game burst into life on resumption, with Callum Ridgway setting up brother Dane to slide the Shopmates in front in the first minute of the second half, and Richard Hall levelling for the Eagles on 48 minutes after Tawhid Juneja flicked on Dave Drury's free kick. Stotfold took the lead after 66 minutes, debutant Gary Pomfret netting with a far post volley from Byrne's cross, but with eleven minutes remaining Josh Davies squared the match, punishing hesitation by Eagles keeper Steve Young to convert Dan Thompson's right wing cross. When Byrne dispossessed Shopmates keeper Colin Ridgway to set up Hall's second goal four minutes from time Stotfold looked set to close the campaign with a victory, but two minutes later Raunds equalised with Matt Pinnock latching onto a David Coales pass to fire across Young and just inside the far post.
