News... Young excited by first team manager appointment ...pics
Stotfold Football Club is delighted to announce that Steve Young has been appointed first team manager after
Gordon Bickerstaff's resignation two weeks ago. Steve joined the management team during the summer as joint
manager and this will be his second post, having previously had a brief but successful spell at St Neots.
Steve enjoyed a superb footballing career, the highlight of which was his heroic goalkeeping performance
which was largely responsible for Arlesey Town's historic FA Vase Final victory over Oxford City. He had several
successful seasons with the Eagles as a player, has a wide knowledge of local football and lives in the town.
Roy Ryall has stepped up as his assistant whilst Tony Lamacraft remains as first team coach.
Steve's first game in charge ended with a fine 2-0 home win over Holmer Green. ...more |
